Join Alabama poets and musicians in celebrating the history and art of African American poetry and song! Area middle and high schoolers are invited to attend two workshops to learn about the history and craft of African American poetry and its connection to music, while creating their own poems. A presentation of their work, alongside that of Alabama poets and the music of the Alabama Blues Project, will follow.
This second workshop in a three-part series will be led by BJ Reed, Alabama Blues Project Executive Director of School Programs and Special Activities, and one of Alabama's Best Female Vocalists.
Registration closes Sunday, February 7.
